Announcing the Culture Enforcers That Got Your Back!

Joshua Butrum

Joshua Butrum was our first Culture Enforcer to hit the Furlough scene. Beyond just a Social Media Marketer, he’s been actively serving in the US Army for 12 years.

Josh is creating a premium service that will help the members excel at digital marketing.

“His main ambition is to sustain income for both me and my LARGE family, I am contemplating an agency model, and I am just looking to make a difference.”

Kavi Kien

Furlough’s second Culture Enforcer is Kavi! Prior to joining Furlough, Kavi was the Phi Theta Kappa President at their community college’s student government. Regardless of the major academic success and valuable experiences he gained as an event project manager… he was miserable.

Kavi left college after his second year to live out a Zen Buddhist Monastery in rural-side Oregon. “It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and one of the most challenging times of my life.”

After his residency commitment, Kavi traveled to Vietnam to connect with his people and learn more about his culture. This was his real introduction to digital marketing as he was seeing nomads left and right.

Since August 2019, Kavi also went into recovery from porn addiction to heal and transform their life. Everyday, he’s mentoring many people(especially men) on recovering from their own addictions. Knowing that if he can abstain from the most destructive behaviors, then he can achieve anything. “Being of service to many walks of lives taught me to embrace humility, and practice being humble with being a student of life.”

Kavi is also involved as the Copywriting UX Director and Email Marketing Manager of the Newsletter team. He is a profound, exceptional copywriter who’s always helping out members in Furlough.

Rick Johnston

The third Culture Enforcer at Furlough is Rick!

He has a diverse background, having worked in everything from labor jobs to sales, to digital marketing.

He’s been involved in nearly every vertical—from building out funnels, offer creation, writing copy, and graphic design.

Since the beginning of 2021, he’s led the Furlough Newsletters team—today, Rick is the Director of Email Marketing at Furlough.

At the time of this writing, he’s in the start up phase of launching his own newsletter. Which aims to help solopreneurs work less and earn more.

Mahendra Shukla

Lastly, we have our recently added member Mahendra who is working from Kanpur, India.  Making him the fourth Culture Enforcer.

Just like most people starting out new in the digital marketing world, we all start somewhere.

Mahendra started his own Social Media agency known as “Web Saga”, during Covid. As a Social Media Strategist, he helps many coaches make data-driven decisions that create impact and drive results. In result, coaches are able to make a profit without tons of followers or ads.

But he admitted

"I have done an Executive Program in Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy from IIM Raipur, one of the premier institutes in management. But my working experience was still at beginner's level. Most of my experience was based on learning through hit and trial."

After a few months went by, Mahendra met Joe through Acadium, and joined the Furlough community.

He’s been able to build his skillset in SEM, SEO, and Google Analytics in addition to Social Media with the support of the community.

"My experience with the community is amazing. The people here are amazing and very helpful. The amount of learning I had in just 1 month by just listening to members is more than what I learned in 1 year before that. All the people here are very supportive. If you are a beginner or maybe you are a pro, there is a lot for everyone in this community."
